Mentoring Across Borders focuses on mentoring across borders between older mentors and younger mentees. However, there are other mentoring approaches, focusing on specific topics or specific geographies, that can also serve as inspiration. Some examples are FAITH, DIGITOL, BESTIE or Duo for a Job:

FAITH – Feeling Safe to Transact in the Third Age was an Erasmus+ project based on peer-to-peer mentoring, where older adults acted as learning facilitators for other adults 55+ with a low level of digital skills to help them improve their digital skills and increase their confidence and trust in ICT and internet use.  For more details, visit the project’s website: https://faith-project.eu/

DIGITOL - Generations United combatting fake news

For this Erasmus+ project, young mentors were recruited to guide older adults and help them develop their digital skills and critical thinking to identify the fake news they are exposed to on the internet. https://digitol.eu/

BESTIE – Befriending for Social and Digital Inclusion project, aimed to provide a fresh and innovative model of cross-fertilization of digital and social skills for senior citizens, migrants, and young people.  https://bestieproject.eu/

DUO FOR A JOB, is an intergenerational mentoring program that allows volunteers aged 50+, mentors, to support young job seekers, mentees, and boost their chances of getting a job. For more information: https://www.duoforajob.be/en/homepage/
